Troubleshooting

Common problems and what to do about them.

The installer menu just sits there

That is expected. The menu does not start on a timer — select an entry with the arrow keys and press Enter. See Installation.

The installer opens again after the installation

The computer booted from the USB drive again. Power it off, remove the drive, power it on. If that does not help, pick the internal SSD/NVMe in the Boot Menu instead of USB.

"Seva Client is already installed"

The installer found an existing system on the disk and refused to install over it. The computer powers off after 30 seconds.

If you really do want to reinstall from scratch and erase the disk, boot from the USB drive and choose Install Seva Client OS — automatic install, ERASES THE WHOLE DISK. If you did not mean to reinstall, just remove the drive and power the computer on — your installed system is intact.

The installation failed

The screen shows paths to the log files. Take a photo of it and send it to support — it says which step broke.

The two most common causes: the internet dropped during installation, or Secure Boot was left on.

Black screen after installation, the desktop never appears

Almost always the graphics card.

  • RTX 50xx (Blackwell): do not switch the driver profile to the legacy one (nvidia-550) — the new cards simply do not work with it, and this black screen is exactly what you get. Leave the default profile alone.
  • The monitor is plugged into the motherboard instead of the graphics card: move the cable to the card.

No network after installation

Turn Secure Boot off: the network driver is built on the machine itself and is unsigned, and Secure Boot only loads signed modules. This is the usual cause of "no network" and "no graphics" on a fresh system.

Check that the cable is in the motherboard's port and that there is a link on the other end.

The key is rejected

Open the license list in the bot. Installation only works with an active license. The statuses "Expired", "Revoked", "Suspended" and "Inactive" will not let you through.

If the license is active but the key still does not work, it may already be bound to another computer. Reset the license in the bot: it issues a new key and disconnects the old machine.

The panel does not start or behaves strangely

Escalate gradually:

  1. CleanUp in the installer settings — stops the panel's and Steam's background processes.
  2. Reinstall the panel in the installer — reinstalls the panel without touching the system.
  3. Reset installed data — a full cleanup of the panel's data. See Reset and reinstall.
